MFAN Partner: CGD Reports on Secretary Clinton’s Speech, “Development in the 21st Century”

Birdsall and ClintonThe Center for Global Development website reports on Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton’s development speech, hosted by CGD and delivered yesterday in a packed auditorium at the Peterson Institute in DC.  The summary of the speech includes key excerpts, as well as opening remarks from CGD President Nancy Birdsall.  CGD writes:

“Seasoned observers in the standing-room-only audience of development professionals said afterwards that the speech was the most detailed and forceful on development by a top U.S. official in many years. This reflected, they said, both Secretary Clinton’s personal interest in global poverty reduction the Obama administration’s broad commitment to elevate development policy issues.”
